The MTN ICT & Business Skills training is an initiative by the MTN Foundation Youth which is aimed at building the capacity of young people between the ages of 18 to 35 in ICT and entrepreneurship skills, to enhance their employability and entrepreneurial abilities.

On December 11, 2020, the fourth phase of the training was concluded with a closing ceremony which was held virtually.

Participants in the programme from across the five states in the fourth phase attended the programme.

The participants listened to goodwill messages from the Executive Secretary of the MTN Foundation. She said, “We applaud the participants of the programme. These young Nigerian entrepreneurs showed up and attended the sessions with great expectations and zeal.

“We remain committed to helping empower and develop young start-ups with the digital skills required to achieve the success they truly deserve.”

MTN also awarded prizes to outstanding participants.

Following presentations on technology-driven solutions by representative of four groups into which participants were divided, Group Two emerged the winning group of the entire programme.

Each member of the group made up of 50 members was awarded 5GB data.

Aliyu Musa Dada was declared the best presenter from the presentation exercise and was awarded an MTN hynetflex device (120GB data pre-loaded) and one power bank.

On the group level, participants with the cumulative highest assessment score from each group on all courses delivered were awarded prizes including one hynetflex device (120GB data pre-loaded) and one power bank each.

Onyebuchi Okezie, Jude Ogbunike, Muhammad Lawal and Olatunji Olatunbosun Tosin emerged winners from their groups while Jude Ogbunike was the participant with the cumulative highest assessment score across the four groups.

He was rewarded with one MTN hynetflex device (120GB data pre-loaded), one power bank, one branded wall clock and an extra 5GB data on his mobile.

The participants, who were in high spirits, expressed gratitude to MTN, its ecosystem partners, Google, Cisco and Oracle, and the facilitators of the training sessions.
