Some service providers in Nigeria have responded quickly to the two-week ultimatum given to them by the Federal Government for all phone numbers to be syncronised with the National Identity Number (NIN).

The telcos are MTN and Airtel. Meanwhile, Glo and 9Mobile are yet to reveal concrete plans for how their subscribers can link their NIN to their phone number.

How to link your MTN number to your NIN

As an MTN customer, if you have your NIN, you can link it to your number by downloading MyMTN App or dialing the NIN code for MTN *785# using the phone number you wish to link. Follow the prompt in the two cases.

You can also visit https://mtnonline.com/nin/ to submit your NIN details.

Link your Airtel number to your NIN

Airtel has also taken action. For Airtel customers, you should just dial *121*1# to link and *346# to know your NIN.

How to link your Glo number to your NIN

Glo has announced that users can send their NIN details to 109 or visit https://www.gloworld.com/ng/nin/ to do the same.

The NIN submitted here will be verified against the NIMC database. You will be contacted if there are any issues with this verification for re-validation.

How to Link Your 9Mobile Number to Your NIN

Finally, days after the FG gave a two weeks ultimatum to telcos to re-register SIM cards with NIN, 9Mobile has finally came through.

For 9Mobile subscribers, you can verify and link your NIN to your mobile number by dialing *200*8# or visit https://9mobile.com.ng/nin and follow the prompt.
