The Apple Watch Series 5 was announced on September 10, 2019. The most exciting features for this smartwatch model are its always-on display and a built-in compass.
The watch also features international emergency services to every cellular model and for this updated version it brought back ceramic white, a new natural brush, and space black titanium models.
Design/Display
The Watch Series 5 features an innovative new display that allows the time and important information to remain visible at all times. Each watch face has been carefully optimized for the new display and to preserve battery life, the screen intelligently dims when a user’s wrist is down and returns to full brightness with a raise or a tap.
Several advanced technologies work together to deliver this new feature, including the industry’s only low-temperature polysilicon and oxide display (LTPO), ultra-low power display driver, efficient power management integrated circuit and new ambient light sensor. This combination of hardware innovation and incredible software design allows Apple Watch Series 5 to offer all-day 18-hour battery life.
The Apple Watch Series 5 looks very similar to the Series 4. This means there were no major changes. The interesting thing here is that iPhone maker now allows users to customize the watch and even band before they buy, instead of having to take whatever comes in the box and then picking out the strap they actually want. The size of the smartwatch is 40mm and 44mm. Both the aluminum and stainless steel variants come in 44mm and 40mm sizes.
