The Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority, NEPZA and Future Africa, a firm that provides capital and coaching for mission driven innovators are to deploy technology to spark up interests and participation in the country’s free trade zones scheme.

The two organizations made this known when the country partner of Future Africa, Iyinoluwa Aboyeji, paid a visit to the Managing Director of NEPZA, Prof Adesoji Adesugba, in Abuja.

Mr Aboyeji explained that technology and innovation were the backbone of any economy and that Future Africa’s collaboration with NEPZA would yield the right dividend in the promotion of the country’s free trade zones.

Mr Aboyeji expressed delight on the “open door policy’’ of the new NEPZA Chief Executive, adding that Adesugba’s appointment only indicated how President Muhammadu Buhari was genuinely prepared to reposition the Authority and the country’s economy as a whole.

Commenting, Managing Director of NEPZA, Prof Adesugba said technology remained the quickest accelerator of modern business.

He said the Authority was ready to partner with the firm and other firms to use technology and innovation in running the 42 free trade zones across the country.

According to him, the Authority was desirous of establishing more free trade zones to attract Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), supports revenue generation and values for the economy.

Professor Adesugba maintained that the Authority would activate its four focus areas which included technology, agriculture, solid mineral and healthcare to fast track the country’s industrialization process.
