Nine African startups have been selected for the finals of the ‘Daikin -Samurai Incubate Africa Ideathon, an initiative by the leading multinational AirConditioning brand DAIKIN and African early-stage VC – Samurai Incubate.
The startups that were chosen are from 6 African countries namely Nigeria (2), Senegal (1), Cameroon (1), Kenya (2), Morocco (1), and Tanzania (2).
These startups now stand a chance to receive an investment of $100,000-$150,000 from Samurai Incubate Africa Inc at the pitch event to be held in Nairobi, Kenya.
The Ideathon aims to find the 9 most innovative startups across Africa who are keen to partner and expand their business with Japanese partners.
The startup holds a chance to get in a partnership with Daikin and an exciting chance to get funded by Samurai Incubate Africa.

Innovative Clan is a software company that has FinTech solutions tailored to the African market to digitise its economy.
Kenya
Marks Rate Limited is a crowd financing platform that allows small businesses to raise funds at a negotiated rate of return to finance their sales orders and obtain working capital from the general public.
Weza Ventures is a platform that uses machine learning on mobile phone data to rapidly score credit-worthiness of customers for loans and access to goods in credit.
Morocco
Neopetra is a clean-tech startup developing green building solutions as an adaptation measure to climate change.
Tanzania
Toolboksi is a platform that matches households and businesses with verified handymen for various repair, maintenance, and installation services.
Worknasi is an online platform for listing, renting and managing coworking spaces, shared office spaces, full-service offices, and meeting rooms.
