Nufaesah, Simbi Interactive, and EduPoint, all-female led startups, have emerged winners in 2019 She Leads Africa Demo Day. The Demo Day was the culmination of 3 months She Leads Africa Accelerator Program.
These 3 startups alongside 13 others were selected for the She Leads Africa Accelerator Program.
They were mentored and trained by seasoned experts and business coaches on topics relating to entrepreneurship, branding, finance among others during the 3 months Accelerator boot camp.
On Demo Day, the top five startups namely: Nufaesah, Simbi Interactive, EduPoint, Oncopadi and Street waste pitched to a panel of judges that included Damilola Teidi – Director of Incubation at Co-creation Hub, Wonuola Okoye – Founder of Big Startup Co, Dayo Koleowo – Partner at Microtraction and Bode Abifarin – COO at Flutterwave.
She Leads Africa supported by the Work in Progress! Alliance (VC4Africa and Oxfam), the judges named Nufaesah founded by Nafisah Oseni Wahab the winner and was rewarded with a cash prize of N2 million while the second-place winner was Simbi Interactives and the third-place winner was EduPoint. They were rewarded with N1 million and N500,000 respectively.

Nufaesah
Nufaesah founded by Nafisah Oseni Wahab aims to provides workwear for the urban Muslim woman – to help them keep within the Islamic guidelines of dressing, yet look fashionable. Her products range between pants, dresses, skirts, jumpsuits, shirts/blouses, jackets/blazers, scarves, and turbans.
Simbi Interactives
Founded by Oyindamola Adesina, Simbi Interactives is looking to solve the problem of poor education in Africa through her AI-powered product – Simbibot.
Edupoint
Edupoint is an innovative online platform that connects students with verified local teachers who deliver one-on-one lessons in any subject, skill or exam. The founder is Lilian Uka.
