After more than a decade at the helm, Gregory Rockson, Co-Founder and CEO of mPharma, has stepped down from his role. He will now serve as Chairman of the Board, with longtime executive Kwesi Arhin appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer.

A Decade of Leadership

Since co-founding mPharma in 2013, Rockson has led the company through an ambitious journey to improve access to affordable medicines across Africa. Under his leadership, the healthtech startup expanded its presence into countries including Nigeria, Kenya, Malawi, Rwanda, Zambia, and Ethiopia, reaching millions of patients and building one of Africa’s most trusted pharmaceutical supply networks.

Kwesi Arhin Takes Over as CEO

The board has appointed Kwesi Arhin as CEO — the first non-founder to lead mPharma. Arhin has held senior leadership positions within the company, including Global Head of Commercial, Senior Vice President, and Chief Operating Officer.

His promotion marks a new era of operational scaling for mPharma, as the company strengthens governance and focuses on sustainable growth across multiple African markets.

Why This Leadership Change Matters

This transition signals a maturing phase for mPharma.

  • Rockson will now drive long-term strategy and investor relations as Chairman.
  • Arhin will oversee daily operations, efficiency, and expansion.
  • The move separates visionary leadership from execution, preparing mPharma for its next decade of growth.

mPharma’s Continued Impact

  • Built pan-African supply chains for pharmacies and hospitals.
  • Enhanced access to affordable and quality medicines.
  • Pioneered inventory management systems to reduce waste and shortages.
  • Emerged as a healthtech leader in Africa.

Looking Ahead

With Rockson stepping up as Chairman and Arhin stepping in as CEO, mPharma is poised to deepen its technology-driven healthcare solutions, strengthen supply chain partnerships, and expand to new African markets.
