Google has announced the 15 innovative startups selected for the Google for Startups Accelerator: Africa Class 9, reflecting its ongoing commitment to support African entrepreneurs solving local challenges through technology.
Launched in 2018, the Google for Startups Accelerator: Africa program has supported 153 startups across 17 African countries, which have collectively raised more than $300 million in funding and created over 3,500 jobs. This initiative aims to accelerate tech-driven solutions that fuel economic growth and social development across the continent.
Class 9 Startups: Driving Impact with AI
The new Class 9 cohort, chosen from nearly 1,500 applications, represents Ghana, Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, and South Africa. These startups are building solutions across critical sectors, including:

- Agritech
- Healthtech
- Professional Services
A standout characteristic of this group is their focus on leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) to address Africa’s unique challenges and unlock new opportunities.
