Apple is preparing to launch its most powerful smartphone yet — the iPhone 17 Pro Max — expected to debut at the company’s annual September event. The upcoming flagship model will feature significant upgrades in camera technology, processing power, and display quality, according to multiple leaks and insider reports.
The iPhone 17 Pro Max will lead Apple’s 2025 smartphone lineup, introducing cutting-edge features like a triple 48MP rear camera system, an upgraded A19 Pro chip, 12GB RAM, and a smoother 6.9-inch OLED ProMotion display.
Thicker Build, Bigger Battery, and Premium Design
According to leaked dummy units and early accessory listings, the iPhone 17 Pro Max will have a slightly thicker chassis than its predecessor, hinting at a larger battery for extended use. Apple is also rumoured to return to an aluminium-and-glass frame, replacing the titanium shell introduced in the iPhone 15 Pro series.
A new Sky Blue colour option is also expected to headline the design refresh, joining the Pro lineup’s classic shades.
Display and Performance Enhancements
The iPhone 17 Pro Max will retain the 6.9-inch OLED screen but will now feature ProMotion 120Hz refresh rate across the entire iPhone 17 lineup — a feature previously exclusive to Pro models. This ensures smoother navigation, gaming, and video playback.
Under the hood, the device will be powered by Apple’s new A19 Pro processor, manufactured using a 3nm process. This chip is expected to deliver better performance and power efficiency. Coupled with 12GB of RAM, it will support heavy multitasking, professional apps, and advanced AI functions.

One of the standout features of the iPhone 17 Pro Max is its camera system:
