King of Boys was released in the cinemas with much acclaim in 2018. The reviews were overwhelming, and the movie became one of the biggest that year. Hence, it did not surprise many that a sequel was produced titled King of Boys: The Return of the King.

The differences between the 2018 production and the current sequel are:

  1. It has been released on the video streaming platform Netflix.
  2. It comes in seven episodes and features faces.
  3. It is the first Nigerian original Netflix series.

Produced by Kemi Adetiba, King of Boys: The Return of the King stars Sola Sobowale, playing the lead role of Eniola Salami aka Laburu, the ‘King of Boys’ amongst other actors like Deyemi Okanlawon, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Toni Tones, and Charley Boy, amongst others.

It is the story of a political underworld king who was ousted and sent into exile for many years. That king is about to return to reclaim the crown and rule over the underworld and the entire state.
