Last week was a bit of a melancholic one on Twitter as reports emerged of the deaths of Ibidun Igodalo and Dan Foster. Other than these deaths, Twitter was it usual self-alive and the exchange of bants was topnotch.

On this episode of Naija Twitter vibes for this last week, we look at some of the exciting trending topics!

Ibidun Itua-Ighodalo

Popular event planner and wife of the founder and pastor of Trinity House church Ibidun Itua-Ighodalo died in the early hours of last week Sunday. The cause of death was cardiac arrest. She has already been buried.

Dan ‘The Big Dawg’ Foster

Again the Nigerian Twitter community was thrown into mourning when the death of media personality, Dan Foster filtered in. Dan Foster, the legendary On-Air Personality reportedly died from coronavirus complications. Popularly known as The Big Dawg, Daniel ‘Dan’ Foster was credited with changing the face of radio as an OAP at Cool Fm, one of the popular radio stations in Lagos. He was also a DJ, and radio producer.

Adeherself

Popular social media influencer, Adedamola Adewale also known as Adeherself was arrested during the week alongside four others by the EFCC. The EFCC disclosed the news on its twitter handle tweeting: “The EFCC Lagos Zonal Office has arrested five alleged internet fraudsters, including one Adedamola Adewale, a self-acclaimed social media influencer, for their alleged involvement in internet-related fraud.”

Cuppy

After Arsenal lost their second consecutive EPL matches (Manchester City thrashed the gunners 3 nil while they lost 2-1 to Brighton), DJ Cuppy aka omo OTe$ has had enough with the club she had faithfully supported for 6 years. She announced that she is severing her relationship with Arsenal stating that she is not ready to move on and people should respect her privacy.

Dbanj

The Koko master has been embroiled in a rape allegation. A twitter user named Seyitan accused him of raping her. What drew the angst of Nigerians was that Dbanj reportedly got Seyitan arrested…She has already been released. However, the damage has been done. Dbanj reportedly lost his endorsement deal with Heritage Bank. So who is speaking the truth…If you ask us? Na who we go ask?

Obaseki

Godwin Obaseki has shown Nigerians that he is not Ambode. During the course of the week, Obaseki defected to the People’s Democratic Party. In other words, he saw the back of his ex-godfather, Adams Oshiomole who no longer the Chairman of the APC after the Courts of Appeal sacked him.

Deputy Governor

The Deputy Governor of Ondo is reported to be on the verge of defecting to the PDP in the coming days. However, the powers that be in Ondo state reportedly got wind of it and moved fast. The Deputy Government, Agboola Ajayi was prevented by the police, Bolaji Salami, from leaving the government house with an official vehicle. All this happened in a video that emerged on Twitter.

Ghana

According to reports, some armed men entered the Nigerian high commission in Ghana and demolished some apartments. The Nigerian foreign minister Godfrey Onyeama has already responded urging the Ghana government to taken action. Despite this, a lot of Nigerians are asking how Nigeria, the giant of Africa got here.
