MEST Africa, a pan-African entrepreneurial training program, seed fund, tech incubator, and hub held its annual MEST Africa Summit (June 10-12, 2019) in Nairobi, Kenya.

One of the key highlights of the event was the MEST Africa Challenge where five selected finalists pitched their innovative, creative and scalable ideas to a panel of judges, investors, venture capitalists and members of the public for a chance to win $50,000 investment.

Last year, Accounteer, an online accounting software for SMEs won the MEST Africa Challenge and was rewarded with $50,000.

For the 2019 edition, the competition was among the following regional finalists: AMPZ, Nigeria, Oze, Ghana, Snode Technologies; South Africa, Waya Waya, Kenya and Seekewa, Ivory Coast.

However, due to stiff competition and “being unable to agree on which startup had the potential to make the biggest impact on the continent and beyond, the judges named , , and all winners of $50k investment each and support from our sponsor .”

The MEST Africa Summit is a Pan-African tech conference.

The Summit brings together top entrepreneurs, investors, executives and ecosystem players from across Africa, Silicon Valley, Europe and Asia to explore the latest innovations and rising stars in the tech and startup space on the continent.
